Delem DA-53T Programming Large Arc Bending Tutorial. Using the Delem DA-53T System to Program Large Arc Bending.

First, create a new program. Name the new program ADH-R. Confirm. Enter the thickness of the sheet to be bent: 1.2mm.

Select the type of material to be bent. Material 1: steel. Click Accept. Select the upper and lower dies. If the die needs to be changed, switch it here.

For a complete list of compatible tooling and machine specifications, feel free to download our Brochures.

Click on the programming interface. Enter the main interface. Enter the length of the sheet to be bent: 250mm. The return distance can be set a bit smaller.

Enter 80mm. In actual applications, it can be set even smaller, 20mm or 50mm, which can improve processing efficiency.

Entering the position of the first press line is very important. After entering the position of the first press line, the subsequent arcs will be bent step by step, according to the position of the first press line.

Choose to start bending from the 250mm position. Click "Layon" to enter the backgauge material support function. After turning it on, the sheet can be placed on top of the backgauge.

Normally, the sheet is at position "0". After enabling the support function, the sheet can be placed at position "1". This will hold the sheet, making it easier to bend.

Click "Bumping" to edit the large arc program. Turn it on. Enter the angle of the large arc to be bent. Enter 90°. Enter R radius as 50mm.

Enter the number of bending segments: 14 segments, 14 segments mean there will be 15 bends. This is to segment the arc.

Choose whether the segments are of equal length, you can choose to have each arc segment of equal length or use the system's default settings.

Click Accept. The program for 15 bends is now generated. Enter automatic mode. Then perform an actual bending demonstration.

The backgauge is now in this position. The sheet will rest on the second step of the backgauge. Start bending. Place the sheet against the second step of the backgauge.

During the 15 bends, after finishing, bend the other side. Another 15 bends. Bending is complete. Show the workpiece. Use an R50 gauge to check the arc accuracy.

This process exemplifies the remarkable precision and sophisticated programming capabilities of today’s state-of-the-art press brakes. If you’d like more details or require a tailored bending solution, feel free to contact us at any time.
